contracts and AGREEMENTS

Domestic Contracts

People can enter into various types of agreements that outline the rights and obligations of parties whether they are common-law, married or separated. These are referred to as domestic contracts. There are three types of agreements: "Separation agreement" is an agreement made upon separation, "Marriage contract" (also known as a prenuptial agreement) is an agreement between two parties who are married or who intend to marry, and "Cohabitation agreement" is an agreement between people who live together (common law) but are not married.

Separation Agreement

Separation agreements are entered into between separating spouses and common law partners in order to determine the division of property, custody and access rights to the child/children and support obligations.
